HAWORTH CONNECT ON CAMPUS

Haworth hosts experts for a discussion about the significant evolution of education spaces – that learning happens anywhere on campus

February 9, 2023 – Narrow definitions of the dorm, lecture hall, dining hall, lab and union are outdated. Today’s campus reflects a holistic view of the living and learning experience. Haworth Connect hosted a conversation about learning that happens anywhere with higher-education experts Meloney Linder from the University of North Dakota, Julie Parks from Grand Rapids Community College Lakeshore Campus and Damon Gonzales from Davenport University.

“Our campus started as a JC Penney building,” said Parks. “It was reimagined into a campus that was going to allow knowledge to happen in the hallways, in the lab and from home. It was an opportunity to re-think what we were doing.”

Higher education leaders face these new challenges as traditional campus are transformed into immersive environments. Viewing the entire campus as the classroom helps schools create diverse environments that attract and retain students, faculty and staff, as well as offer flexibility for changing needs.
