Giancarlo Piretti believed in designing for comfort. His rationalist approach suggested visual simplicity while embracing innovative approaches to motion. In various chairs, he embedded mechanics into the structure, creating unexpectedly comfortable experiences. After his passing, Haworth Design Studio and Piretti’s son, Alessandro, brought Giancarlo’s design to life with Accolade—a contemporary chair that reclines as people sit and adjust their posture.
