    Although Haworth Standard Collection offers a vast array of fabrics and finishes, occasionally there is a need for additional options. Our COM Program makes it simple.

    Seating Upholstery

    COM Request Guidelines – Seating Upholstery

    Please review the Manufacturing Constraints Listing prior to selecting an upholstery. (Click link to view listing).

    Haworth has two methods of testing for seating products.

    1) Test Type: Memo Sample Testing - Haworth will acquire Memo Samples for testing.

    2) Test Type:  Yardage Required Testing - Dealer to Supply Required Yardage for testing.

    Product Selection and yardage requirements:  Only one product test is allowed per request for the following products.

    • Cabana Sofa & Screen (6 yards)
    • Fern™ Seat only (1 yard)
    • Harbor Work Lounge™ / Poppy™ Guest / Poppy™ Lounge (3 yards)
    • Openest™ Chick Pouf - LG Round, MED Square, Rectangle (1 yard)
    • Pebble™ (3 yards)
    • Riverbend™ HI-Back (6 yards)
    • Riverbend™ MID-Back & NO-Back (4.5 yards)

    Test result response time  is published in the notes section in the COM Form

    Additional Notes

    • A Graded-In Order Entry Code will be provided, no additional charges apply. *Exception: If a fabric cost exceeds the range of our highest grade the code will be set-up as Non-Graded, additional charges apply.  (see Textile Procurement & Pricing to learn more)
    • Production material will be procured by Haworth.
    • Orders with COM upholstery will be scheduled at standard production lead-time.  However, an extended lead-time may apply based on the availability of the COM.
    • Please see Haworth Terms and Conditions regarding COM. 

    Vertical Fabrics

    COM Request Guidelines – Vertical Fabrics

    Please review the Manufacturing Constraints below prior to selecting a fabric.

    • Fabrics must meet Flammability Requirements for use on most vertical products. (*Exceptions are Tackboards & Tackstrips, Patterns Privacy Screens, Unigroup Flipper doors and Wainscot Kits)
    • Vertical fabrics are normally 66” in width.  There may be product size restrictions if requesting fabrics less than 66” wide.  (Railroading the fabric is an option, however a different Order Entry/Color Code is required)
    • Fabrics that reference Polyolefin or Xorel in their content or fabrics treated with Stain Repellents will not be approved due to performance reasons.

    Test Type:  Yardage Required Testing - Dealer to Supply Required Yardage for Testing.

    Product Selection and yardage requirements:  Only one product test is allowed per request for the following products.

    • Adaptable Radius Steel Flipper Doors (1.5 yards)
    • Belong, Hop, Intuity, Planes Screens & Planes Modesty Panels (1 yard)
    • Compose Tiles, PREMISE Stack pad & Workware (1.5 yards)
    • Patterns Privacy Sceens (2 yards)
    • Tackboards & Tackstrips (1.5 yards)
    • UniGroup Flipper Doors & PREMISE Floor-to-Ceiling (1.5 yards)
    • UniGroup Too Insert (1 yard)
    • UniGroup, UniGroup too, Places, Monolithic Panels & Finish Posts (6 yards)
    • Wainscot Kits (1.5 yards)

    Test results will be emailed to you within 10 business days upon the receipt of the required yardage.  If your COM request is approved, an Order Entry Code will be provided with the test results

    Additional Notes

    Wall Covering

    COM Request Guidelines – Wall Covering Request

    Please review the Manufacturing Constraints below prior to selecting a wall covering.

    • Backing is required for prevention of glue bleed thru
    • Material width not to exceed 54”

     

    Test Type:  Memo Sample Pre-test & Dealer to Supply required material for testing

    • Haworth will acquire the memo sample required for a pre-test evaluation
    • If the pattern/color passes the memo evaluation, you will be instructed to send in twelve (12) yards of material for testing.
    • For woven fabrics you may be asked to have a backer and or treatment applied to the test yardage.
    • Additional colors for an approved pattern will also need to go through the above process.

    Product Selection and yardage requirements:  The following products will be tested with this request.

    • Enclose ®, Enclose ® FG, Trivati ® (12 yards)

    Additional Notes

    • Production material will be procured by Haworth.
    • Orders with COM wall covering will be scheduled at standard production lead-time.  However, an extended lead-time may apply based on the availability of the COM.
    • Please see Haworth Terms and Conditions regarding COM. 

    Laminate

    COM Request Guidelines – Laminate

    Please review the Manufacturing Constraints below prior to selecting a laminate.

    • Sheets must be available in 60” widths
    • Laminate must have a standard thickness of .028 (vertical grade)
    • Finish must be matte or low-gloss, as high gloss finishes are highly susceptible to scratching during the manufacturing process.
    • Laminates shipped standard with a protective coating (peel coat) are not allowed.
    • Directional laminates are not available on Compose Spanning Tiles (ex: Wood Grain)
    • When specifying a COM laminate, you must select a standard Haworth edge color, matching edgebands are not available

     

     Dealer to Supply two (2) sample chips for evaluation

    Product Selection Groupings:

    •  Furniture and Walls
    • Compose Spanning Tiles - Directional laminates are not available on these tiles (ex: Wood Grain)
    • Seating Tablets

    Wood Stain

    COM Request Guidelines – Wood Stain

    Please review the Manufacturing Constraints below prior to requesting a custom wood stain.

    • Custom Wood Stain is supplied in the chemistry and gloss standard to the product.
    • Wood Stain masters have a shelf-life of 12 months.
    •  Samples older than 12 months must be remastered to ensure color accuracy.  A COM request must be submitted at no charge.
    • Wood will naturally shift in color as it ages.  Request a custom Wood Stain when mixing old and new products in the same office to avoid a mismatch.
    • Suite™ private office products are sequence matched.  If you need to match the stain, first contact [email protected]

     

    Request Type:  New Stain Match (select from one of the following Product Group Selections)

    • Dealer to Supply one (1) color sample for matching.
    • A $200 Purchase Order is required for each color match. Please attach to the request upon submission.

    Product Group Selection:  Furniture Group1 - No Selection is Required. All the following products will be available with an approved Color Match.

    • Active Components™, Belong™, Compose ®, Cultivate ®, Hop™, If® • Intuity™, Jive™, Jump™, Masters Series®, Openest™ Desk, Patterns ™, Pip™, Colaborative, PLACES®, Planes®, PopUp, PREMISE®, Reside®, Swivel™, UniGroup®, workware®, X Series®

    Product Group Selection:  Furniture Group2 - Only one product test is allowed per request for the following products.

    Product Group Selection:  Walls - No Selection is Required. All the following products will be available with an approved Color Match.

    •  Upon the receipt of your PO and the color samples we will send your request out for color matching.
    • Color masters will be shipped to you for approval within 15 business days.  You will receive an email notification of the shipment along with the tracking number
    •  After you review the color masters, please respond to the email with your decision per the instruction.
    • Once you approve the color master, an Order Entry Code will be provided via email.  You may then place your order.

     

    Request Type:  Re-Master existing COM - Requests for Re-Mastered stains are at no-charge. Please include Order Entry/Color Code in the Color Name / Description field below.

    Product Group Selection:  Same as above.

     

    Custom Wood Stain Charges

    • There will be a 6% up-charge based on the list price of each custom wood finish.  These charges will be added to your invoice.
    • *Exception for Wall Product.  There will be a $1,500 up-charge for orders up to $250,000 list, and a $3,000 up-charge for orders over $250,000 list.  These Charges will be added to your invoice.
    • All custom wood stain charges are non-discountable

     

    Non-Standard Haworth Veneer

    When requesting a custom stain on a non-standard Haworth veneer, you must first submit a request through Tailored Solutions™ to confirm veneer availability and pricing prior to placing a COM request. (Please reference the Tailored Solutions™ Part Number in the Additional Notes section on the form)

    *Exception for walls products: ​You may submit your COM request without contacting Tailored Solutions™.

    Paint on Metal

    COM Request Guidelines – Paint on Metal

    Please review the Manufacturing Constraints below prior to requesting a custom paint on metal.

    • Custom colors are supplied in standard gloss and finish.
    • Custom metallic and textured finishes are not available.
    • Custom paint is not available on plastic parts.

    Request Type:  Custom Color

    •  Dealer to Supply one (1) color sample or Pantone/RAL number for matching.
    • A $200 Purchase Order is required for each color match. Please attach the PO to the request upon submission.

    Send the test samples to the following address and reference your COM Service Request Ticket Number on the packing slip.

    COM Department, Haworth Inc, One Haworth Center, Holland MI  49423

    •  Upon the receipt of your PO and the color samples we will send your request out for color matching.
    • Color masters will be shipped to you for approval within 10 business days.  You will receive an email notification of the shipment along with the tracking number.

    Custom Paint on Metal Charge

    • Custom paints will be at Grade A pricing.
    • There will be a $1,000 up-charge for orders up to $250,000 list, and a $2,000 up-charge for orders over $250,000 list.  These Charges will be added to your invoice.
    • All custom paint charges are non-discountable

     

    Request Type:  Haworth Standard Color – For situations where a desired Haworth standard paint is not a standard offering on a product.

    • Your request will be reviewed for manufacturing feasibility.
    • Results of the review will be emailed to you.  If your COM request is approved, and Order Entry Code will be provided.  You may then place your order.
    • Paint will price out at the standard grade and a non-discountable $600 production fee will apply.

    Paint on Wood

    COM Request Guidelines – Paint on Wood

    Please review the Manufacturing Constraints below prior to requesting a custom paint on wood.

    • Custom colors are supplied in standard gloss and finish.
    • Dealer to Supply one (1) color sample or Pantone/RAL number for matching.
    • A $200 Purchase Order is required for each color match. Please attach the PO to the request upon submission.

    Request Type:  Back Painted Glass only

    Dealer to Supply one (1) color sample or Pantone/RAL number for matching.

    • A $200 Purchase Order is required for each color match. Please attach the PO to the request upon submission.

    Product Selection:

    • Masters Series®
    • Suite™

    Send the test samples to the following address and reference your COM Service Request Ticket Number on the packing slip.

    Request  Type: Back Painted & Magnetic Back Painted

    Dealer to Supply one (1) color sample or Pantone/RAL number for matching.

    • A $200 Purchase Order is required for each color match. Please attach the PO to the request upon submission.

    Product Selection:

    • Enclose Panels (6mm or 10mm)
    • Enclose Tiles (6mm only)
    • HW Supplied (Enclose FG/Trivati) (10mm or 12mm)
    • Wd|Mtl Glazed Doors (6mm or 10mm)
    • Glass Slab Doors (10mm tempered only
    • Double Glazed Doors (5mm tempered only)

     

    Send the test samples to the following address and reference your COM Service Request Ticket Number on the packing slip.

    • Upon the receipt of your PO and the color sample we will send your request out for color matching.

    • Fill out Project Information and you will be contacted regarding your request.

    Textile Procurement & Pricing

    Textile Procurement & Pricing

    Haworth to Supply COM (HTS)

    Haworth to procure COM textiles for production is the primary method of setting up COM’s for customer orders. Order Entry Codes are then set-up in one of the two following price categories.

    Graded-In COM

    • Grades are pre-assigned based on our cost to purchase the fabric.
    • Grades will price out the same as our standard fabrics.
    • No additional charges apply.
    •  Most of the COM textiles on our website are Graded-In

    Non-Graded COM

    • If a fabric cost exceeds the range of our highest grade it will be set up as Non-Graded.
    • Grade A product pricing will apply, plus the purchased cost of the textile and an additional 4% (based on the cost of the textile) will be charged to cover administrative fees.
    • The textile cost and the administrative fees will be added as a non-discountable line item on your invoice.
    • When quoting a Non-Graded COM, you should use the price shown on the supplier website when calculating the additional charges.
    • Yardage estimates for quoting can be calculated by using the yardage amounts shown in the applicable Haworth Price List.  For seating products that are seamed, you will also need to add a textile repeat percentage amount to your calculation.  The additional yardage allows for pattern matching. (see repeat size and percentages below)

    Repeat Percentages – Repeat Size – (Percentage to add to Your Calculations)

    • 1” – 4” – (5%)
    • 5” – 7” - (10%)
    • 8” – 14” – (20%)
    • 15” – 19” – (25%)
    • 20” – 27” – (30%)
    • 28” – 36” – (50%)

    Dealer to Supply COM (DTS)

    There are occasions that Haworth will accommodate a request for a dealer to supply a COM.

    • The main reason for this is when a pattern or color has been discontinued or being phased-out by a supplier.
    • Grade A product pricing will apply with no additional charges.
    • A DTS Order Entry Code will need to be requested for your textile. Add this notation in the Special Instructions field.
    • Within 5 days of placing an order through Lynx, your Customer Service Representative will notify you of the COM yardage requirements, tagging information and the manufacturing plant(s) ship to address.
    • Please do not send the fabric ahead of placing your order, as this information is critical for the proper identification of your production material.
    • Haworth to Supply is the preferred option due to issues with lost material, shipments going to the wrong manufacturing location, mislabeling, dirty and or damaged material.

    Terms & Conditions

    COM Terms & Conditions

    • COMS are evaluated for application only.  Performance of COM textiles are not covered under warranty.  This includes reverse crocking where ink from clothing is transferred to the fabric.  The COM provider is responsible for material quality, performance and color consistency to meet commercial tolerances.  Only textiles that meet the Association for Contract Textiles (ACT) performance standards may be specified
    • Some COM textiles will stretch more than others, resulting in a small amount of material pooling.  This can be addressed by running a hand across the surface to smooth the material and is not considered a manufacturing defect.
    • COM suppliers may adjust pricing for their textiles (includes Alliance patterns) at any time.  Therefore, Haworth will also adjust our pricing (and Grades) accordingly.
    • Haworth reserves the right to reject or reverse any COM approval that does not meet manufacturing requirements in actual production.
    • Haworth is not responsible for the obsolescence of COM patterns and or colorways.
