Community spaces in healthcare facilities are the first point of contact, offering warmth and welcome. Accessibility is key, with varied desk and seat heights at the reception desk to maintain eye contact with all patients. Adjustable chairs and tables allow caregivers to switch tasks and postures seamlessly.
The lobby features modular lounge seating, cheerful children’s furniture, and various table heights to support different activities. Natural light, live plants, and nature-inspired designs, such as woodgrain finishes and artwork, promote well-being for caregivers, patients, and families. These thoughtful design elements create a comfortable and inclusive environment for everyone.
Our research shows that trust and transparency between patients and caregivers are crucial for positive outcomes. Patients want to be seen, heard, and understood. Our patient rooms feature chairs, tablets, and wall-mounted workstations, allowing caregivers to transition between tasks while maintaining eye contact, which improves patient satisfaction.
Comfort and safety are also top priorities. Transitional furniture, like recliners, helps patients move confidently, while safety features empower caregivers. The textiles balance aesthetics with functionality, offering soothing colors and textures that are easy to sanitize. These elements enhance engagement, comfort, and safety in patient rooms.
Gone are the days of cold, sterile exam and treatment rooms. Patients deserve a comforting experience, and caregivers need to provide personalized care. Our exam room furnishings allow caregivers to share information while maintaining eye contact, helping patients feel at ease.
The treatment room offers a peaceful ambiance and privacy, with flexible furniture like a moveable screen to accommodate various treatments and family members. The residential-style furnishings and serene colors enhance patient calm, creating a comforting environment for difficult news or lengthy infusions.
As telemedicine and online care become increasingly prevalent, so does the need for spaces where caregivers can find the privacy needed to provide confidential care. These spaces often demand the same design considerations as an open office—namely, various furnishings that allow people to transition between different tasks seamlessly.
In our telemedicine space, caregivers have access to an enclosed pod. This space offers total privacy, with acoustics and lighting that enhance online consultations. It’s adjacent to a counter-height surface with stools, so the caregiver can work on a laptop or confer with colleagues when a consultation is over.
Caregiver burnout is one of the leading causes of turnover in healthcare systems. Their welfare also directly impacts their ability to provide quality care to patients. That’s why it is imperative to give caregivers spaces to retreat, relax, and refuel.
We’ve designed our respite space to feel like a health spa for caregivers. Soothing lamps illuminate the room, which we’ve outfitted in tranquil blues, greens, and woodgrains. Lounge chairs encourage relaxed postures and are ideal for reading or napping. We’ve also incorporated plants and artwork inspired by nature, which enhances mental and physical well-being.
