A Universal Seat

In 1968, designers Gatti, Paolini, and Teodoro set out to create a “universal” chair — one that could adapt to any body, in any position. Their answer was Sacco, the world’s first bean bag chair. Playful yet revolutionary, Sacco broke away from rigid forms, offering freedom of movement and comfort that embodied the spirit of late 1960s experimentation.

Craft in Flexibility

Sacco’s genius lies in its construction: a durable leather or fabric shell filled with thousands of tiny polystyrene beads. This simple yet innovative craftsmanship allows the chair to mold instantly to the sitter, creating personalized support without mechanical parts. More than five decades later, Sacco remains timeless — proof that thoughtful materials and clever design can redefine how we experience comfort.
