Designers of Empathy

Francesca Lanzavecchia and Hunn Wai founded Lanzavecchia + Wai to explore design as both gesture and function. For Zanotta, the duo created the Nena family — side chair, lounge, and stool — inspired by the gesture of a hug. This project reflects their philosophy: design as an embrace, balancing softness with tailored craftsmanship. Nena is not only a seat but a story of how Lanzavecchia + Wai translate human gestures into timeless Italian design.
