By Philippe Starck

Inspired by manufacturing waste that is normally swept away, the Broom side chair is made from a scrap material composite. This combination of reclaimed polypropylene and wood fiber creates a speckled texture, giving it a natural look. The Broom side chair and its companion stools are ideal for social spaces, indoors or out.

Broom Side Chair Product Sheet

Designed from Dust

Broom was Emeco’s first collection featuring reclaimed polypropylene with wood that would normally be swept into the trash. “Imagine,” says Philippe Starck, “there is a guy who takes a humble broom and starts to clean the work-shop and with this dust of nothing, with this he makes new magic. That's why we call it Broom." Reclaimed polypropylene mixed with repurposed wood particles creates a warm, speckled texture, and is engineered to meet the demands of high use environments.
