By Gerrit Thomas Rietveld

In 1935, Gerrit T. Rietveld was tasked with designing a mass producible chair for an Amsterdam department store. Not one to sacrifice quality or craftsmanship, he created Utrecht. Now considered an icon of the Neoplastic movement, Utrecht is available as a standard or wide lounge chair, two-seat sofa, and a three-seat sofa with a slight inward curve to encourage interaction.
