Course Description

View a recorded panel discussion featuring expert insights on creating inclusive workplace environments that embrace and support neurodiversity. This session explores how the built environment can impact neurodivergent individuals and offers inclusive design strategies to help everyone feel comfortable, safe, and empowered to do their best work, regardless of neurological profile.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify the importance of inclusive design policies—both formal and informal—in supporting neurodivergent individuals within organizational environments.
  2. Explain the role of the eight human senses (beyond the traditional five) in shaping how individuals experience and react to built environments.
  3. Assess whether a space supports occupant well-being by evaluating cognitive, emotional, and physical indicators of comfort and performance.
  4. Recognize the limitations of neurotypical perspectives in designing for neurodiverse needs and apply strategies to bridge this gap through inclusive design.
  5. Implement evidence-based, sensory-informed design practices that enhance health, safety, and welfare for all users, regardless of neurological profile.
