The world’s favourite Spark articles in 2025

A look back – and a brief preview of 2026

by Alex Przybyla

The end of the year is upon us – which means it’s time for our end of the year Spark recap!

Available in six languages, Spark reaches readers all over the world – and while the most popular topic globally was trends in colour and design, we found something fascinating: every language and region delved into a unique topic in 2025.

Readers in Spain, for example, gravitated toward ergonomics, while readers in Japan were drawn to neurodiversity.

Read on to see which topics were most popular in various languages and regions.

Deutsch – Germany, Switzerland, and Austria

After colour and design trends, readers of German were most interested in how to optimise shared desking.

Written by Quentin on our Ideation team, this article summarises key findings from our wide-reaching Evolving Workplace Study – check it out if you haven’t yet!

English – India, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and elsewhere in Asia Pacific

For English readers in Asia Pacific, education was the hot topic.

Interest in campuses and education spaces is flourishing in Asia Pacific. The article that drew the most interest explores how to draw students to campus with ‘wow’ spaces.

English – the UK, Ireland, and elsewhere in Europe

Readers who prefer English in the UK, Ireland, and elsewhere in Europe were interested in our second life program.

Our second life efforts are currently focused on refreshing Zody, our classic office chair. We’re thrilled at the impact so far – and this is only the beginning.

English – the USA and Canada

North American readers were most interested in collaborative spaces.

Collaboration and connection remain top reasons for going into the office. This article looks at collaborative spaces based on 4 different workplace cultures.

Español – Spain and Latin America

Readers who preferred Spanish bucked the global trend. While every other region focused on design and colour trends, readers in Mexico, Spain, and elsewhere in Latin America were most interested in ergonomics and acoustics.

The top performing article in Spanish looks at the story of our spines – and how we can better look after our faithful, sturdy backbones.

Français – France

French readers flocked to an article about designing for diversity.

In this piece, Nishtha from our Ideation team draws on her expertise to lay out a strong business case for workplace diversity. She concludes with a series of first steps for organisations looking to become more inclusive.

日本語 – Japan

While neurodiversity is attracting attention all over the world, Japanese readers are particularly interested in the topic.

This article – which features Victor Bourdariat, one of Haworth’s neurodiversity specialists –  looks at what we really mean when we talk about neurodiversity.

中文 – China and Hong Kong

It looks like our Chinese readers are the most active! In China and Hong Kong, the top performing article suggested exercises you can do at your desk.

Just like our Spanish-speaking readers, readers in Chinese diverged from the rest of the world: there was even more interest in this topic than in colour trends.

Good luck with your exercises!

Looking back, looking ahead

There’s your Spark recap for 2025. As you can see, while designers all over the world are drawn to similar topics – especially design and colour trends – each region holds fascinating surprises. Readers in each of our languages were intrigued by different topics.

Hopefully you find inspiration in the topics that inspired designers elsewhere!
