Haworth has partnered with Pantone, the global authority on colour, to introduce Dualities Discovered—a limited-edition collection anchored by the sculptural Cardigan Lounge™ chair, designed by Patricia Urquiola. This collaboration explores how colour goes beyond surface, shaping emotion, atmosphere, and the way we experience space. At its core is a shared belief: that design should be not only beautiful, but deeply meaningful.
The Transformative Language of Colour: Pantone Dualities
At the heart of this collaboration is the Pantone Dualities system, a visionary expansion of 175 hues created for the Fashion, Home + Interiors (FHI) community. More than a palette, it’s a language of expression, helping designers translate feeling into form. The system is divided into two distinct palettes:
- New Age Pastels: Soft tones like mint green, papaya, sky blue, and blush rose that evoke serenity and modern grace.
- Shadows: Deep, monochromatic shades that explore the full spectrum between black and white, offering contrast, drama, and quiet strength.
Together, these palettes empower designers to create spaces that are not only visually harmonious but also emotionally resonant.
In Dualities Discovered, from soft pastels to vibrant citrus tones, colour becomes a living, breathing force, infusing design with emotion, intention, and transformation.
Where Design Meets Purpose
The Cardigan Lounge™ chair by Patricia Urquiola blends sculptural comfort with sustainability. Inspired by the drape of a cardigan, its form is both inviting and architectural. The custom-knit cover, dyed to match Pantone’s Dualities palette, is made using zero-waste digital knitting.
Each chair repurposes 91 recycled plastic bottles into a durable textile and uses biomass-balanced foam, cutting carbon emissions by up to 80%. Fully recyclable and modular, it’s designed for easy disassembly and reuse.
