The Challenge
I-CAIR is an international healthcare group dedicated to improving patient care through the design, development, and manufacture of innovative medical devices. Their head offices in Lissieu no longer supported the company’s growth or its evolving ways of working. Teams were operating in constrained spaces with limited access to natural light, reducing comfort and opportunities for interaction.
The ambition was to open up the workplace, improve daily working conditions, and encourage collaboration, while ensuring full business continuity during a complex transformation delivered on an occupied site.
The Approach
I‑Cair partnered with Kardham for a global and strategic approach to workplace transformation, built on transparency and close collaboration. The project began with a strategic framing phase and an in-depth audit of the existing building, translating workplace needs into layout scenarios to support informed decision-making. Working alongside Kardham, Haworth delivered workplace solutions aligned with new ways of working—across workstations, collaborative areas, meeting spaces, reception, and social spaces. The scope included the redesign of an executive floor and the transformation of the ground floor into a hub for collaboration, wellbeing, and informal exchange.
