Course Description

When lighting is right, it’s brilliant. When it’s wrong, there’s little else you can focus on. Nothing transforms an environment like lighting—it enhances the aesthetic appeal of a space and can significantly enhance overall employee experience. Explore the connection between lighting and well-being to learn about practical tools and resources and gain inspiration that supports the lighting design process.

This 1-hour course educates participants on the latest trends in lighting design in the work environment.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore a range of current lighting design trends—from intelligent fixtures to lighting used as an artform.
  • Discuss the positives and negatives of lighting as well as the value of personal control, natural light, and the equation of acoustics and lighting for heightened well-being.
  • Define the proper terms, definitions, bulbs, benefits, and brightness comparisons.
  • Understand the types of lighting fixtures found in commercial interior spaces and how each can be “designed” into multiple applications.
