He received a B.F.A. in sculpture from Grand Valley State University and a M.F.A. in 3D design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. As a new product designer for Haworth, he continues to understand craft and process. He still works with his hands—seeking timeless, sustainable solutions that make life better for people. Kyle played a key role in the development of the Fern™ chair, conceptualizing and building functional prototypes—interwoven with ergonomic research— to discover and handcraft a seating experience scaled for mass production. As part of Haworth’s Seating Studio he continued through development to launch, honing Fern’s balance of form and function.
