Explore the Future with DesignLab

DesignLab is an annual initiative that celebrates new perspectives and artistic visions in the world of design. Curated by Patricia Urquiola, this collective includes emerging designers who experiment with different approaches to form and materials. Each year, we host during NeoCon, offering the design community and our clients a moment of inspiration and a glimpse into the future of American design.

Patricia Urquiola

Uroboro – This striking serpentine sculpture pays homage to the Chinese zodiac sign. It is an interpretation of the classic ouroboros, symbolizing renewal, transformation, and the concept of infinity.

Steven Haulenbeek

Resin-Bonded Sand Chandelier – Resin-bonded sand begins with waste material or with as little waste as possible and utilizes common casting sand.

Luam Melake

Listening Chair – A single user can sit in this chair in four different positions, allowing opportunities to direct their gaze and posture toward others in the room.

Cristina Moreno

Mare Coffee Table – A true homage to nature, it highlights raw elegance and timeless artistry. The hand-carved onyx surface subtly echoes ocean ripples.

Marquel Williams

Beam Lounger – Inspired by the use of structural supports found in architectural buildings, the designs balance a sense of rigid industrialism with utility.

NeoCon 2025 Exhibit
