Case Study Hawaiian Airlines

An integral part of life in Hawaii since 1929, Hawaiian Airlines is the country’s largest and longest-serving airline, carrying over 10 million guests a year. Haworth worked closely with the company to update its small, cramped Tokyo headquarters into a bright, open space that reflected its corporate branding and feel across its call centre, office space, conference and meeting rooms.

We installed 28 new workstations featuring a range of Haworth and Haworth xFriends products, including Intuity benching for a more creative, flexible workspace to accommodate touchdown spaces where mobile Hawaiian Airlines employees could connect with colleagues and recharge their devices. Innovative, ergonomic FERN task chairs deliver new levels of all-day comfort, regardless of size, posture, or work mode. It’s designed to work with every body so that people can stay focused on the tasks at hand.

An Audience table and Very meeting chairs offer a streamlined, collaborative feel in the new conference room. Meeting rooms feature Planes tables with ready access to power and data to encourage more collaboration and creativity and Very Wire Stacker chairs for friendly, sustainable seating and science-led comfort.

Smart storage elements include Tambour, Artitude and M Series elements for long and elegant lines with a clean aesthetic. Monkey Nut training tables promote the ultimate in flexibility – allowing informal meetings on one side while a co-worker works quietly at the other.

Incorporating Hawaiian Airlines’ lighter, more natural colours into the furniture and interior design also created a more welcoming and communal atmosphere, while more windows provide natural light for a healthier workplace.
