HAWORTH ASIA PACIFIC – BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE

SHANGHAI, CHINA – October 23, 2009 – At the recent 2009 Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 tennis tournament, Haworth unveiled custom on-court player's benches that provided ergonomic Zody seating for players rejuvenating between sets.  Haworth has been a sponsor of ATP tennis in Shanghai for four years.

Haworth’s multi-faceted involvement with the Shanghai tennis tournament has included ergonomic courtside seating for VIP and government boxes.  In cooperation with tournament organizers, Haworth also created the ideal player’s lounge at the 2009 event.  Piloted in 2008, the lounge concept is based on and validated from data collected from players and their coaches.  The player’s lounge is now permanent and will be used for Shanghai Master’s Series events going forward.

This year’s tournament was held October 10th – 18th and was bigger than ever.  A new format included 100 of the world's best players in a 56-player draw for singles and an expanded stadium.  Renamed as the Shanghai ATP Masters 1000, Shanghai joined eight other cities in hosting an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event and hosted the finale to a new three-week Asian swing of the tour.  Top seed Rafa Nadal and Russian Nikolay Davydenko played in the 2009 singles championship final and, after 2 hours of tough battle, Davydenko won 7-6 (3), 6-3.
