Social Responsibility

Objective:   Support the communities in which we conduct business and operate as an ethical organization.

How are we achieving this?

Haworth’s strategy for social responsibility is simply to focus on the continuous improvement of these three areas: members, their families and their communities. Our members are the basis of our success around the world.

Haworth provides an environment that facilitates equal opportunities for all individual members to develop themselves for success. We also provide support for member families and for the communities and countries in which they live and work.

Community Involvement

Haworth held its 2008 national Sales Conference at the newly renovated corporate headquarters building in Holland, MI.  Included in the conference was a “build-a-bike” team-building activity at the Boys and Girls Club of Holland.

The “Live in a World of Hope” event provided new bicycles, helmets, safety review by local police and fun for area youth and a chance for Haworth sales members to donate time to a worthy cause.

Health Survey

A health survey rolled out to all North America members and their spouses in 2008. This Survey results help our Haworth Occupation Health and Wellness Center create a five-year communication plan focusing on the health –related member education, programs and incentives that address any issues that are raised by the survey.

As a result, the Calgary facility joined Holland facility as a smoke free campus.  Free smoking cessation programs were offered to help members with the transition.  Health screenings and Body Mass Index (BMI) readings were held for members
