Haworth Career Locations

Holland  Michigan - Headquarters

Haworth’s headquarters facility in Holland, Michigan is a completely renovated corporate headquarters building that condenses all our knowledge, our brand and the conversations we have with clients into a single case study of corporate growth and success. One Haworth Center combines inherent, functional purpose with striking design that celebrates the beauty of nature and inspires everyone who enters to seek new and innovative ways to conserve the natural environment.

It also serves several other roles: it’s the working home of hundreds of Haworth members, the central nervous system of our global enterprise, a LEED Gold facility and a soaring example of the interplay of light, space, and well-designed workspaces. The 30,000 square foot building allows our members to work, collaborate, and communicate in workspaces tailored to their needs. We have created more group and open spaces to better accommodate the way people work today – collaboratively, informally and with smaller groups.

“We want to help clients create workspaces where their company can be more productive and more efficient through the use of our products. We’re really thinking about how we use our products from our client’s perspective. Building this facility is taking these exact thoughts and practicing them on ourselves.”

-- Dick Haworth, Chairman of the Board

Holland Manufacturing

Our largest manufacturing facility is in Holland, Michigan, a community just off the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. This facility incorporates our Panels, Steel, and Laminated Products plants, as well as Haworth’s Distribution Center. In total, these four work centers cover about 34 acres and employ more than 1,000 members.

Although each plant has its own unique culture, each one takes pride in comfortable, clean and safe environments as well as in their efforts to promote self-managed work teams and green/recycling initiatives. Haworth plant members regularly participate in a variety of scheduled social and charitable activities that not only make work a little more fun, but also help make the world just a little bit better.

Panels Plant: Built in 1979 and spanning over eight acres, the Panels Plant has approximately 300 members responsible for manufacturing our overhead storage units and office panels. The facility prides itself on teamwork, which can be seen in the large work cells in the facility. The plant also includes a large powder coat paint line and roll form operations, which allows the plant to produce 85% of the parts needed for production lines.

Steel Plant: Sitting in six acres, the Steel Plant manufactures and assembles free standing files, bookcases, panel connectors and panel frames. It is the most advanced in regards to self-directed work teams, which have allowed the Steel Plant to successfully complete a number of continuous improvement projects.

Laminated Products Plant: More than 300 members work in this 10 acre plant built in 1989. Team members are responsible for producing high pressure laminated work surfaces, fabric covered pads, laminated vinyl products, and laminated storage case goods. The plant enjoys a very low turnover rate, which in turn has created a workforce that is extremely experienced and knowledgeable in manufacturing.

Distribution Center: Originally built in 1981 and expanded in 1989, the Distribution Center lies on 8 acres and is home to over 180 members. This Center receives Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV’s) from all three Holland plants, making it one of the largest AGV systems in the world. It’s also home to Haworth’s Recycling Center, where production and office refuse is collected, sorted and shipped to outside recycling companies. Haworth members are encouraged to bring in their home recyclables to the Recycling Center at no charge.
