CHICAGO – June 13, 2014 – Haworth, Inc. had an impressive showing at the 2014 NeoCon furniture fair, which took place at Chicago's Merchandise Mart. For the second consecutive year, the Holland-based company was awarded with NeoCon’s highest honor, the Best in Competition Award (Openest). Additional industry accolades were awarded including a Best of NeoCon Gold in the Casegoods category (Suite) and a Best of NeoCon Silver in the Architectural Products category (Trivati).
Openest, an ensemble of products for collaborative spaces created by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, captivated at the annual show and went on to win the Best of Competition Award. The collection is a favorite among industry leaders and visitors as it also received a Gold Award in the Collaborative Collections category. Openest consists of Feather sofas, Chick pouf-seating, Sprig tables and Plume space-dividing screens that offer design flexibility.
Haworth also unveiled Suite, a casegoods line that addresses the ever-changing world of adaptable workspaces. Designed by Steffen Lipsky from the Haworth Design Studio, the line brings a heightened flexibility to the private office; facilitating a seamless transition between individual and group work. Suite was awarded Best of NeoCon Gold in the Casegoods category.
Trivati, an elegant architectural wall system that is highly customizable, was also introduced at the show. Designed by Nathan Shedd of the Haworth Design Studio, the system's tri-channel design delivers the best visual and acoustical privacy in the market. Trivati was recognized with the Best of NeoCon Silver in the Architectural Products category.
NeoCon 2014 also marked the official launch of a new global benching system called Intuity. The system demonstrates a new approach to office furniture by using integrated components to create unique workspaces. Developed by bangdesign and the Haworth Design Studio, Intuity is an addition to Haworth's Integrated Palette.
The carefully curated, always evolving Haworth Collection added three new design pieces to its already exciting portfolio. GranTorino HB (Poltrona Frau), Ginger Ale (Poltrona Frau) and Dalia (Cappellini) were all showcased in the space.
Throughout the three day fair, a continuous stream of visitors graced Haworth's 29,000-square foot Chicago showroom, which featured dramatic architecture and lighting changes – most notably an expansion to the façade that increases showroom square footage and creates storefront appeal. Designed by Studio Urquiola, the showroom was defined by a visual language that was soft, inviting and friendly and created a wonderful balance of products, workplace trends and design. Haworth's continued collaboration with the renowned designer further explores the transformation of space by creating elements for the new office landscape.
Haworth also celebrated the grand opening of its new, permanent Haworth Health Environments (HHE) showroom on the third floor of the Mart. The 2,600-square-foot showroom features creative solutions that improve workflow for healthcare professionals and enhance how patient care is delivered.
